Goldene Zeiten
Yesterday the new Peter Thorwarth movie had his world premiere in Bochum and I visited this event with some friends of mine.
“Goldene Zeiten” is not only the third motion picture of Peter which is set in Unna a small German town in the heart of the “Ruhrgebiet” an industrial urban area in Germany it is also a premiere for Dirk Benedict. His first shooting in Germany.
Benedict is known from the TV series “A-Team” in which he played the “Faceman”. He was also starring “Starbuck” in the original “Battlestar Galactica” and has many German Fans especially in my age. His charakter is really fun as he is playing a US TV actor who was famous in the 70ths and does not get any more engagements (Thorwarth even managed to show some pictures from “A-Team”). So he is playing himself, but don’t panic. I promise that you will have some surprise moments about this subject.
Additional acting takes place by some old friends from my favored German films:
Ralf Richter, Christian Karmann (as Mark Kampmann!), Alexandra Neldel (as Melanie!), Wolf Roth, Ludger Pistor, Wotan Wilke Möhring and many more.
The movie is not “Bang Boom Bang” part 2. Many fans who wanted to see such a thing where disapointed and where showing their disrespect in the cinema. Pretty bad. This motion picture is in many points much better than BBB. It is not a pure comedy and has some real interesting filming techniques. The plot is more than cool and there are enough call quotes from actors like “Ralf Richter”.
Thorwarth even mentioned the conflict between actress Alexandra Neldel and the German Newspaper “Bild”, which printed here Playboy photos (also mentionend and shown in the movie!) whithout here permission.
It is not possible to tell you much about the story without anticipating to much surprises, but here are some information.
The local golf club wants (or at least pretends to) to host a charity golf tournament for building an orphanage in rumania. Ingo, an eventmanager, get’s Douglas Burnett an old Hollywood actor to support this event. But he brings the LA style of life into the small town and soon there are drugs, pussys and Porsches everywhere. Of course a lot of people get killed and you can lough a lot.
